Yes — in most cases, both eyes are treated on the same day. This is the standard approach globally. You will have one surgery day, one recovery period, and one set of follow-ups. In very rare cases, treating one eye at a time may be recommended based on your prescription or corneal characteristics.

LASIK is one of the most studied and performed elective surgical procedures in the world. Serious complications are rare (<1%). At Netram, our AI SmartSurfACE Touchless technique eliminates flap-related risks entirely. Conventional LASIK creates a corneal flap (with a blade or femtosecond laser), applies the excimer laser beneath, then repositions the flap. AI SmartSurfACE is flapless — no flap is created at all. Only the laser contacts the cornea. This eliminates all flap-related risks (dislodgement, striae, epithelial ingrowth) and is especially safer for thin corneas, active lifestyles, and contact sports.
LASIK (including SmartSurfACE) uses an excimer laser to reshape the corneal surface. SMILE creates and removes a tiny lenticule through a 2–3 mm incision using a femtosecond laser — no excimer, no flap. SILK is the newest evolution of SMILE — smoother lenticule, sub-2 mm incision, and better early optical quality data. All three are excellent procedures; the right choice depends on your prescription, corneal thickness, lifestyle, and budget.
Contoura Vision is a topography-guided LASIK that maps 22,000 points on your cornea for a highly personalised ablation. It uses a flap. Our Trans PRK / EPI-Contoura procedure achieves similar topography-guided precision — but without any flap, making it safer. We offer the best of both worlds: Contoura-level precision, flapless technique.
LASIK permanently reshapes the cornea. For the vast majority of patients, the correction is permanent. However, if your prescription was not fully stable before surgery, or natural age-related changes occur (presbyopia after 40), a small residual prescription may develop over years. Most patients never need enhancement. Presbyopia is a separate age-related condition — not a recurrence of LASIK.
